Early Life
Joshua Jay Howard was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on April 28, 1980. He attended high school at Hargrave Military Academy. He continued his education at Wake Forrest University. Howard appeared in 67 games in his rookie season. He averaged 8.6 points per game. The following season he started 76 games for the Mavericks. In the 2006-2007 campaign, Howard was named to the NBA all-star team, but only after injuries to players Yao Ming and Carlos Boozer prevented them from appearing in the game.Dallas Observer: I Love Josh Howard.
