Joseph Gordon-Levitt

  • Joseph Gordon-Levitt is an American television and film actor. He starred in the television series 3rd Rock from the Sun from 1996 to 2001, before taking a hiatus from acting to attend Columbia University, where he studied French, but did not graduate.

    Gordon-Levitt plays thug Richie Nix in the 2009 Killshot film, which also stars Mickey Rourke, Diane Lane and Thomas Jane.

    Gordon-Levitt began acting as a 6-year old in a children's musical group. He broke into film in the 1992 Robert Redford film A River Runs Through It. He is noted for his smooth transition from child star to adult actor. After his time as a student at Columbia, Gordon-Levitt tackled some heavy dramatic material. In Mysterious Skin he played a teenage hustler, and in Brick he played a high school loner who investigates the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend by diving into to dark world of drugs and gangs.
