Jose Molina is a catcher for the New York Yankees. After attending Masetro Ladi High Schoo in Puerto Rico, Molina went on to play baseball at Ladislao Martinez University. In 1993 the Chicago Cubs selected Molina in the 14th round of the 1993 amateur draft. He made his major league debut with the Cubs on September 6, 1999. The Cubs released Molina in 2000, and in 2001 he signed a free agent contract to play for the Anaheim Angels, playing behind his brother Bengie Molina. The Angels traded Molina to the Yankees in 2007 for Jeff Kennard.
Strengths
Milona makes contact with the plate, and plays very good defense. He has a strong, accurate arm for throwing out potential base-stealers.[1]
Weaknesses
Not a lot of power, and not very clutch at the plate. Prone to strike out.[1]
