Jose Carreras

José Carreras is one of opera's most prominent Spanish tenors, as well as a member of the widely-popular singing trio The Three Tenors. After recovering from Leukemia in 1988, he started The Friends of Jose Carreras International Leukemia Foundation.

Career

Jose Carreras began his career at the age of eight when he gave a public performance of "La Donna e Mobile". He graced stages all over Spain and Italy in his early twenties, and was propelled into superstardom after he joined two other world class tenors Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo to found the group The Three Tenors.
