Jordin Sparks is an American pop and R&B singer. She won season six of American Idol, beating out Blake Lewis during the season finale. Sparks was nominated for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals at the 2009 Grammy nomination concert on Wednesday December 3, 2008.Official Site: 2009 Grammy Nominations
On May 13, 2009, Sparks returned once again to the stage of American Idol and performed her newest single "Battlefield". Sparks was accompanied by co-writer Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic.
Personal Life
Career
Sparks recorded a five-song EP in November, 2003, called For Now. It was an independent release. After winning Idol she went on to record her self-titled debut album, released on November 20, 2007. On April 10, 2008, Sparks appeared on the American Idol results show as part of Idol Gives Back special. She sang her single "No Air" with Chris Brown. Her currently single "One Step at a Time" was released on April 27, 2008. Also in April, Sparks was put on vocal rest due to acute vocal cord hemorrhage. If the condition does not improve on its own Sparks will have to undergo microsurgery.
