On December 23, the Los Angeles Times reported that Jordan Farmar has decided to undergo knee surgery for a torn meniscus in his left knee. Early Life
Jordan Robert Farmar was born in Los Angeles, California on Novemeber 30, 1986. He would attend Birmingham High School and Taft High School where he was named the Los Angeles Times player of the Year. The accolades piled up with Farmar also receiving the California Interscholastic Federation high school player of the year and also a selection in the McDonald's High School All-American game. He went on to attend the University of California, Los Angeles. He led the Bruins to the National Championship game in 2006, losing to the Florida Gators Basketball team. Farmar was selected with the 26th pick in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. In Los Angeles, he developed into a NBA caliber point guard. During his first season he became the first player ever to play in a NBA Development League game and an NBA game in the same day. In 2008, Farmar served as the back-up to starting point guard Derek Fisher.
