Jonny Fairplay

Jonny Fairplay, born Jon Dalton, was a contestant on the hit reality television show Survivor Pearl Islands. Fairplay was invited back a few seasons later for Survivor: Micronesia in a game of "fans against favorites." He has also appeared in the reality show Kill Reality and several others. Before his reality career began, he was a professional wrestler and an art consultant.

Survivor Rise to Fame

Jonny Fairplay rose to fame after orchestrating an elaborately constructed lie on Survivor to keep himself on the island. A friend was brought to Panama as part of a challenge and told Fairplay his grandmother had died. Through this, Fairplay garnered sympathy from other players. He played on this sympathy for the rest of the game. At the end it was revealed that his grandmother was alive and well. Fairplay had planned the lie from the beginning. Survivor host Jeff Probst cited it as "the greatest lie in Survivor history."
