Jonathan Toews is an NHL hockey player for the Chicago Blackhawks. He is a centre, drafted in 2006, 3rd overall by the Blackhawks. He made his debut in 2007-2008 and signed a contract extensions of 5 years making about 6.5 Million each season. Toews was will play for Team Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
2009/10 Season
Less than a month into the 2009–10 season, Toews was sidelined with concussion-like symptoms after receiving an open-ice hit from defence Willie Mitchell in a 3–2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on October 21, 2009. 2008/09 Season
In 2008-2009 Toews led the Blackhawks and tied for 16th in the NHL with 34 goals. He was Named the 34th captain in Blackhawks history on July 17, making him the third-youngest player to earn that distinction in the history of the NHL. He ranked third on the team with 69 points while appearing in all 82 regular-season games. Toews was named to the starting lineup for the Western Conference in the 2009 NHL All-Star Game in Montreal and notched a third-period goal in the contest. 2007/08 Season
In 2007-08 Jonathan Toews led all NHL rookies with 24 goals, good for second-best on the Blackhawks. He ranked third on the team with 30 assists and tied for third with his 54 points, despite appearing in just 64 games. (Missed 16 games with a sprained knee suffered Jan. 1) He began his professional career with a point in each of his first 10 games (five goals, five assists), which is the second-longest streak to start a career in NHL history.
