Jonathan Stroud is a British writer and author of fantasy books for children and young adults including the award-winning series, The Bartimaeus Trilogy.The Bartimaeus Trilogy: The Bartimaeus Books

Jonathan Stroud grew up near London, England, where his family moved when he was six. He was often hospitalized due to illness, and says that reading was a welcome escape. After graduating from college, Stroud took a position at Walker Books as an editor, assisting other authors with various aspects of their work.
