Jonathan Stroud grew up near London, England, where his family moved when he was six. He was often hospitalized due to illness, and says that reading was a welcome escape. Stroud started writing while still in school, creating simple board games and comics, but soon found he enjoyed writing poetry and plays.Official Site: About Jonathan Stroud
Career
After graduating from college, Stroud took a position at Walker Books as an editor, assisting other authors with various aspects of their work. His earliest books were word puzzles, the very first of which was Justin Credible's Word Play World, published in 1994.Official Site: About Jonathan Stroud
