Coaching Career
In 2003, Gruden won Super Bowl XXXVII in his first season in Tampa. He defeated the team he'd defected from the year before, the Oakland Raiders.
On November 11, 2008, Jon Gruden dismissed reports that he was interested in the vacant University of Tennessee head coaching job. Gruden stated, "As long as the [Buccaneers owners] will have me, I'll be here. I've got a lot of respect for Tennessee. I grew up down there a little bit. My wife is from there. But this is where I want to be, and I can only make myself that clear."ESPN.com: Gruden says taking Tennessee job isn't in his future
