Rock musician Jon Bon Jovi is being sued for $400 billion in federal court by a Boston Red Sox fan who claims Bon Jovi plagiarized lyrics he had written. Samuel Bartley Steele wrote the song "(Man I Really) Love This Team," an ode to the Red Sox, in the fall of 2004.
Steele claims that Bon Jovi heard his song while campaigning for John Kerry in Boston when the Red Sox were in the World Series. He contends that his lyrics then found their way into the Bon Jovi song "I Love This Town."
