Jon and Kate Plus 8 is a reality television show on TLC about the Gosselin family, which consists of parents Jon and Kate, their set of twins and sextuplets. The series chronicles their struggles and joys raising eight children so close in age.
Jon and Kate announced their separation on a highly anticipated June 22, 2009, episode. The couple had spoken about their marital problems in the months leading up to the announcement. On the same day, the couple officially began divorce court proceedings in the state of Pennsylvania.

The season five premiere of the show aired on May 25, 2009, and focused on the sextuplets' fifth birthday party. Cheating Rumors
Various media sources reported in March of 2009 that Jon Gosselin was recently seen at a bar late at night with a young woman identified as Deanna Hummel, sparking rumor that the two may be engaging in an extramarital affair. Gosselin and Hummel deny the rumors stating that they are just friends. Labor Law Investigation
After receiving complaints, the Pennsylvania Department of Labor opened up a case investigating the labor laws.
