Johnny Unitas is a former professional football player. For the majority of his career, he played quarterback for the Baltimore Colts. Over the entirety of his career, he was named the NFL's MVP three times, selected to the Pro Bowl ten times, and received the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. In 1979, he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The 1958 NFL Championship Game between the Baltimore Colts and the New York Giants at Yankee Stadium. Believed to be the start of the NFL's rise in popularity, it was the first official post season game to go into sudden death overtime. Tied at 17 apiece at the end of regulation, the Colts got possession of he ball after the Giants were forced to punt. Johnny Unitas lead the Colts on an 80 yard drive, capped by Alan Ameche's 1-yard touchdown score.
