Johnny Horton was a country rockabilly artist. His most famous song "The Battle of New Orleans" was released in 1959. He was a long time member of the Louisiana Hayride radio and television show, and it helped launch his career. He was killed on November 5, 1960 in Milano, Texas when he was hit head on by a drunk driver.
