  • Career

    John Zorn started his musical journey playing jazz saxophone. Before long, he was incorporating experimental and avante-garde elements into his music and drew from an eclectic range of influences. He has composed, recorded, produced, or played in bands and projects from hardcore punk rock to klezmer music. His re-imagining of the works of film composer Ennio Morricone, The Big Gundown, brought him work composing scores and soundtracks for a number of independent films. His own Tzadik record label serves as a vehicle to re-release some of his own recordings as well as distribute the works of experimental artists such as Eugene Chadbourne and Buckethead.
