John Stamos is an Emmy-nominated American actor who began his career on the soap opera General Hospital. His break-out role was the character of "Jesse Katsopolis" on the sitcom Full House. In 1990, People magazine named him one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the world.
After his stint on Full House, Stamos appeared in television movies and a short lived sitcom Jake in Progress before staging a comeback on the long run medical drama ER. Stamos joined the cast in 2006 as Dr. Tony Gates and as of 2008 is still a member of the program. The program will end in the spring of 2009.
