John Ritter was an American comedic actor who rose to fame as Jack Tripper on the 70's sitcom Three's Company, in later years he's remembered as the father on ABC's 8 Simple Rules. While filming an early episode from the third season of 8 Simple Rules, John fell ill. Several hours later he died as the result of an Aortic Dissection.
Come and Knock On Our Door
Swinging single Jack Tripper moved in with strangers Janet Wood and Chrissy Snow while he attending cooking school. The landlord, Mr. Roper was outraged until one of the women lied and said that Jack was gay. For the run of the series the character (with a robust social life) was often caught in situations where he had to woo women and convince Roper he preferred men at the same time.
