  • American professional ice hockey player John Pohl is a forward for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

    Pohl was drafted by the St. Louis Blues during the ninth round of the 1998 National Hockey League entry draft. He attended the University of Minnesota and became the star member of their hockey team, racking up 200 points in four years and leading the team to the 2002 NCAA Championship win.

  • Professional Career

    Pohl made his professional debut with the Worcester IceCats of the American Hockey League in the 2002-2003 season, during which he earned 58 points in 58 games to place fourth in scoring among the League's rookies. He spent the better part of the next three seasons playing in the AHL.

    Following the locked-out 2004-2005 season, Pohl joined the Toronto Maple Leafs and played his first full National Hockey League season in 2006-2007, during which he earned 29 points in 74 games. An ankle injury limited his play to 33 games during the 2007-2008 season.
