College football quarterback John Parker Wilson played for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Wilson led the Tide to a top spot on the BCS Standings after beginning the 2008 season undefeated.

Football Career
As the starting quarterback at Hoover High School, Wilson led the team to two state championships, in 2002 and 2003. He entered the University of Alabama in 2005, playing in five games and recording 98 yards for two touchdowns. Wilson took over as the Tide's starting quarterback in 2005, playing in 13 games and totaling 2,707 yards and 17 touchdowns. He continued to start for Alabama and in 2007 averaged 218.9 passing yards in each game. Wilson helped the team defeat the Colorado Buffaloes in the Independence Bowl and was named the offensive MVP of the game. In his senior season, Wilson was selected for the for the 008 Johnny Musso Offensive Back Award, after a standout performance at the Tide's spring practice. He continued to lead Alabama to an undefeated start to their season, following a big win against the Georgia Bulldogs in week five and an overtime victory over LSU in week 11.-
