John Michael Montgomery is a country music singer and songwriter. He emerged on the scene in 1992 after he was signed by Atlantic Records and released his first album Life's a Dance. With this album he earned his first number one spot on the Billboard country charts with "I Love the Way You Love Me." He has since released 36 other chart topping hits.
He was diagnosed with acoustic neuroma in March of 2005, but the condition was corrected through surgery.
On May 9, 2008, he admitted himself into rehab for a substance abuse problem and canceled all shows for the next 30 days.
