John Mayer is a singer, musician, and songwriter originally from Connecticut. He now splits his time between Los Angeles and New York City. He attended Berklee College of Music before dropping out in 1997 to move to Atlanta, GA. This is where he refined his musical skills and gained a wide following.
Mayer played the guitar and performed "Human Nature" at the memorial service for the late pop music icon Michael Jackson at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on July 7, 2009.
So far, Mayer has released three studio albums and is currently working on his fourth. He has also released successful live albums and DVDs, including his most recent, entitled Where the Light Is: Live in Los Angeles.

In 2003, Mayer won his first Grammy Award in 2003 for the song "Your Body is a Wonderland." Mayer also won the 2009 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and was nominated for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals and Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance.
John Mayer Trio
In 2005, Mayer formed formed the John Mayer Trio with bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan. The trio plays a blues/rock combination that differs from Mayer's solo style. They released a live album later that year called Try!.
The John Mayer Trio performed live on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien in June of 2009.
Personal Life
John Mayer has been romantically linked to several celebrities, including, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston, Minka Kelly, Cameron Diaz, and Jennifer Love Hewitt. He is currently single. Mayer has an older brother and a younger brother that he is close with. He communicates with them regularly via Twitter.
