Singer John Mayer filled out a Problem Report for iTunes on March 19, 2008. Mayer copied the report on his blog and wrote that he contacted Apple about a crash he had with his iPod freezing while hooking up to iTunes. Mayer writes on his blog, "From time to time, I ask my Mac to do a few too many things at once and an application locks up on me. When it does, it asks me if I'd like to report the incident to Apple. It always strikes me as unnecessary, like filing an insurance claim on a fender bender that doesn't leave any damage. "I don't see any reason to make this harder on us", I say. Lately, though, I've been wondering what would happen if I did file a report, and it is out of sheer curiosity that I decided to click on the blue button instead of the white one."

- Problem Report to Apple per John Mayer's Blog: "Hi guys. John Mayer here. So I was plugging in my iPod because I want to put some new music to go work out to. Nothing's worse than running to stale music in your iPod, am I right? I mean, I love 'Bittersweet Symphony' as much as the next guy, but let's face it, after a while it stops being a 'power song'. Anyhoo, I plug the iPod in and I get the spinning wheel. For a while. I wasn't even being impatient or anything. I was kind of thinking that maybe the iPod was conducting some private business with my laptop that I didn't need to know about but that would only be a minute. Like how I downloaded "In Rainbows" by Radiohead, listened to it for like 2 weeks nonstop and then haven't played it since. I don't know. Maybe you guys are collecting that sort of data. Anyway, things got all haywire after that, and I had to force quit. And that's when I got the message and decided that instead of letting it go I would send a report. I'm not mad or anything, I just thought you'd want to know the specifics of the situation so you can better track the problem. I can give you more information if you need it. Thanks, you guys. Sincerely, John Mayer"
