John Marzano

  • John Robert Marzano was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 14, 1963. Marzano was a Major League Baseball player and Philadelphia Phillies analyst for Comcast SportsNet South. He started playing Baseball for Temple University and was later drafted to play for the Boston Red Sox. Marzano played for the Boston Red Sox from 1984-1993. He signed with the Texas Rangers in 1995, only playing with them for a year. Then Marzano moved on to play with the Seattle Mariners from 1996-1998. When his baseball career ended, he became a television personality for local media outlets and working for MLB's BaseballChannell.tv.

    On the afternoon of April 19, 2008, John Marzano was found dead in his Passyunk Avenue home. He allegedly died from either a fall or a heart attack. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, and two granddaughters.
