John Lasseter

John Lasseter is the principal creative advisor to Walt Disney Imagineering. He was born in California on January 12, 1957. After graduating from Pepperdine University, he joined Walt Disney Company and later became an animator at Walt Disney Feature Animation. Lassester was introduced to computer animation in 1982, during the production of Tron. Later he was appointed as the CEO of Pixar and Disney animation studios, and given the freedom to work on his own projects.

Recently he commnted about his movie UP: "is one of the most unusual movies we’ve ever made. It’s funny, full of heart, emotional, and it’s a great action picture. In the D23 expo,Lasseter talked about the Disney’s upcoming hand-drawn movie “The Princess and the Frog” . It is supposed to be released by December 11, 2009

Career Overview

John Lasseter's first animated short film Tin Toy, released in 1988, won an Oscar for Best Achievement in Animated Short Films. He also received an Academy Award for special achievement for his animated film Toy Story, which was released in 1995. His other popular films are Finding Nemo, The Incredibles and Wall-e.
