American actor John Krasinski shot to fame with his role as Jim Halpert on NBC's award-winning comedy The Office.

Background
In high school Krasinksi was a stage actor, even taking a role in a play written by current co-star B.J. Novak. After graduating he spent a semester in Costa Rica teaching English and then enrolled in Brown's playwright program. He graduated with honors in 2002 and was interning on the show Late Night with Conan O'Brien by the end of the year. He managed to land small roles in Jarhead, The Holiday and Kinsey. Since finding success on The Office, he has been able to take leading roles in larger budget films such as License to Wed and Leatherheads and directed the film adaptation of David Foster Wallace's Brief Interviews with Hideous Men.
