John Grabow

  • John Grabow is a left-handed pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates. After attending San Gabriel High School, the Pirates selected Grabow in the 3rd round round of the 1997 amateur draft. After six years as a minor league pitching prospect in the Pirates farms system, Grabow made his MLB debut on September 14, 2003.
  • Strengths

    Grabow throws a 90+ mph fastball, which he compliments with a solid change-up. Grabow also throws a good curve-ball, and pitches well when adopting base-runners in relief[1].
  • Weaknesses

    For a left-handed reliever, Grabow does not dominate lefties. He also requires rest between outings[1].
