John E. Potter is the Postmaster General of the United States Postal Service (USPS).

Controversy
An independent investigation is being conducted into whether or not Potter received special consideration for his mortgage from Countrywide Financial Corp. The fees for a $322,700 loan given to potter by Countrywide were allegedly waived and one point was shaved from the loan. Numerous federal government employees have allegedly been implicated in the investigation, including Senators Christopher Dodd and Kent Conrad.
