John David Booty

  • John David Booty is a quarterback playing for the USC Trojans. John David Booty was considered a top prospect, but did not start from 2003-2005, instead he was the backup to both Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart. The 2006 season was the first season that Booty made the starting quarterback position. At this time he was a redshirt junior. He was considered a front-runner for the 2007 Heisman Trophy and was named one of the Top 10 quarterbacks entering the 2007 season. In 2008, he led the Trojans to the Rose Bowl, sealing the record for 11 straight winning seasons.

    Booty entered the NFL draft coming off an outstanding season and being in contention to win the Heisman Trophy. A week before the 2008 NFL Draft, Booty publicly stated that he wished to be drafted by the Minnesota Vikings. Booty was selected in the fifth round of the draft by the Vikings, being selected 137th overall.
