John Cusack is an American actor and writer whose career has spanned over two decades. After appearing in several teen movies in the 1980s (including Sixteen Candles), he found one of his breakout roles as Lloyd Dobler in 1989's Say Anything, which was directed by Cameron Crowe.
In February of 2009, sources confirmed that Cusack signed on to the film Hot Tub Time Machine, which features four friends down on their luck who are given the chance to do it all over again when a ski-resort hot tub transfers them back in time to 1987.Entertainment Weekly: John Cusack Starring in Hot Tub Time Machine
John is also the lead in the movie 2012 that's coming out November 13, 2009. He plays Jackson Curtis, an academic researcher leading the fight to counteract apocalyptic events. The movie promises to be one of this year's blockbusters.

The Brat Pack
Because of his ubiquity in '80s teen movies, some have associated Cusack with the so-called "Brat Pack," an unofficial clan of actors that included Molly Ringwald, Anthony Michael Hall, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, and Rob Lowe among others. John was originally the actor chosen to play John Bender in the 1985 movie The Breakfast Club. At the last minute, things changed and Judd Nelson ended up in the role.
