  • Actor John Costelloe starred as homosexual short order cook Jim "Johnny Cakes" Witowski in four episodes of The Sopranos in 2006. Costelloe made his film debut in the 1989 police action film Black Rain and appeared in several other movies, including Die Hard 2, Billy Bathgate, Doubt, Kiss of Death, and The Kings of Brooklyn.   • Suicide Shocker

    According to police, Costelloe died on December 16, 2008, after shooting himself in the head in the basement of his New York home. Two friends interviewed by the New York Post reported that they were "shocked" by Costelloe's death, as he had no shown signs of being suicidal.

    At the time of his death, Costelloe was appearing in the off- Broadway production Gang of Seven. Gang of Seven playwright Jim Neu told the New York Post that Costelloe's timing had been off in the shows leading up to his suicide, but Costelloe had said that nothing was bothering him when Neu asked him about it.New York Post: Tragedy Strikes 'Soprano' Hunk (December 25, 2008)
