John Conyers

  • John Conyers is a Democrat representing Michigan's 14th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. He has held that position since 1965. He is also the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. Before his career in politics, Conyers was an attorney in Detroit.

    On June 26, 2009, Conyers' wife, Monica Conyers, of the Detroit City Council, pleaded guilty to one count of bribery. Mrs. Conyers is accused accepting cash as a bribe on two occasions in 2007.http://mhlo.me/0f07ec
