Career
The John Butler Trio recorded their first album, John Butler in 1998 after building a fan base by playing bar gigs in Northern Fremantle Australia. They received radio play and media attention in 2000 after making an appearance at the Byron Bay Blues and Roots Music Festival.
In 2001, the band released their second album, Three, which rose to the top of the charts in Australia and consequently received a US release in 2002. Their reputation as a great Jam Band grew, and in 2003, they released a live album, entitled Living 2001-2002. That same year, the Trio released its third studio album, Sunrise Over Sea, whose title was taken from the song "Peaches and Cream".
In March of 2007, the band released its fourth studio album, Grand National, which included the songs "Funky Tonight" and "Better Than".
