John Barrowman is a Scottish actor, singer, musical performer, and dancer. He has had signifcant success on London's West End and stars as Jack Harkness in the BBC television series Doctor Who and its spin off series Torchwood.
Career
John Barrowman's first West End appearance was in the musical Anything Goes in 2005. The musical launched his stage career, and he went on to star in such plays as Sunset Boulevard, Putting it Together, and the stage version of Aladdin
Barrowman's film debut came in the Kevin Kline/Ashley Judd film De-lovely in 2005. He gained international exposure from the role and was cast as Jack Harkness in the BBC staple Doctor Who. He currently reprises his role in the spin off Torchwood.
During breaks in his acting schedule Barrowman records albums covering Broadway classics. His first solo album Aspects of Lloyd Webber was released in 1997 and re-released in 2007.
