  • Swedish professional hockey player Johan Hedberg plays for the Atlanta Thrashers in the National Hockey League.
  • NHL Career

    Hedberg was drafted 218th overall in the 1994 NHL Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. He continued to play in Sweden for several years after the draft and was traded to the San Jose Sharks on August 6, 1998. Hedberg was assigned to the Sharks' American Hockey League affiliate, the Kentucky Thoroughblades in 1999. He was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 12, 2001 and made his NHL debut with the Penguins the same year. Hedberg was traded again on August 25, 2003, going to the Vancouver Canucks. After playing in Sweden during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout, Hedberg signed with the Dallas Stars on August 5, 2005.
