Canadian-born professional hockey player Joffrey Lupul currently plays for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League.
Lupul was drafted seventh overall by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks during the 2002 National Hockey League entry draft. He spent three seasons honing his skills in the Western Hockey League and played for Canada's 2003 silver-medal World Junior Team before making his NHL debut in the 2003-2004 season.
NHL Career
Lupul spent the season with the Ducks' American Hockey League affiliate during the 2004-2005 lockout, then rejoined the Mighty Ducks to earn 53 points in 81 games the next season. During the 2006 playoffs, Lupul scored nine playoff goals to lead his team in playoff scoring. Four of the goals were during one game, which translated into two franchise records: The first Duck to score a playoff hat trick and the first player to score four playoff goals in a single game.
In the 2006 off season, Lupul was traded to the Edmonton Oilers, where he went on to have a career low season, earning only 28 points. At the end of the season, Lupul was sent to play with the Philadelphia Flyers. During the 2007-2008 regular season, Lupul earned 46 points playing 56 games with the Flyers.
