Joey MacDonald is a professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL. He also played with the Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Islands and Boston Bruins. He was signed by Detroit Red Wings as a free agent on December 21, 2001 and was assigned for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL playing 4 seasons. He played with the Red Wings of the NHL in the 2006-07 season playing 8 games before he was claimed on waivers by Boston Bruins on February 24, 2007 playing 7 games. Junior hockey Career
MacDonald first played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in the 1997-98 season playing for the Halifax Mooseheads. After 17 games, he was called for the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League and played for 3 seasons. He became the starting goaltender for the Petes until the 2001-02 season when he joined the Toledo Storm of the East Coast Hockey League.
