Joey MacDonald

Joey MacDonald is a professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL. He also played with the Detroit Red Wings, Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Islands and Boston Bruins. He was signed by Detroit Red Wings as a free agent on December 21, 2001 and was assigned for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL playing 4 seasons. He played with the Red Wings of the NHL in the 2006-07 season playing 8 games before he was claimed on waivers by Boston Bruins on February 24, 2007 playing 7 games. On July 7, 2007, he was signed as a free agent by the New York Islanders and played 2 games before he was assigned to AHL for Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the 2007-2008 season.NHL.com: Joey MacDonald Official Player Page After a short stay with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2009-10, MacDonald was traded at the 2010 NHL Trade Deadline to the Anaheim Ducks.

MacDonald first played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in the 1997-98 season playing for the Halifax Mooseheads. After 17 games, he was called for the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League and played for 3 seasons. He became the starting goaltender for the Petes until the 2001-02 season when he joined the Toledo Storm of the East Coast Hockey League.
