  • Junior hockey Career

    MacDonald first played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in the 1997-98 season playing for the Halifax Mooseheads. After 17 games, he was called for the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League and played for 3 seasons. He became the starting goaltender for the Petes until the 2001-02 season when he joined the Toledo Storm of the East Coast Hockey League.
  • Pro Career

    He was signed by Detroit Red Wings as a free agent on December 21, 2001 and was assigned for the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL playing 4 seasons. He played with the Red Wings of the NHL in the 2006-07 season playing 8 games before he was claimed on waivers by Boston Bruins on February 24, 2007 playing 7 games.
