Name Change
Joel and Benji Madden's father left the family when they were 16 and they havn't seen him since. So the boys changed their last name in their 20's from "Combs" to their mother's maiden name, "Madden".
Baby Harlow
In December 2006, Joel Madden and Nicole Richie offcially became a couple. In July 2007 rumors began to spread that Richie was pregnant with Madden's baby. Rumors were unconfirmed until July 31, 2007, when the couple did an interview with Diane Sawyer. Richie gave birth to Harlow Winter Kate Madden on January 11, 2008 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
