  • Music Career

A successful career would follow as steady sales of his next albums helped Satriani become a survivor among the '80s shred guitarists that began to disappear in the '90s when grunge hit the scene. In addition to his solo material, "Satch" lent his talents to several notable bands on stage including The Rolling Stones and Deep Purple. He also created the G3 tour, in which he is joined by friend Steve Vai and one other virtuoso guitarist on the same bill. Some of the musicians who have played G3 include John Petrucci of Dream Theater, Eric Johnson, and Yngwie Malmsteen.
