Joe Pesci

Joe Pesci is an Academy award winning actor and comedian who has starred in over thirty films. He won an Oscar for best actor in a supporting role on two occasions. Once for the 1991 film Goodfellas, and again for the 1981 film Raging Bull. He has starred in a number of films with actor Robert DeNiro.

Life and Career

Joe Pesci was born in Newark, New Jersey. He is the son of Mary and Angelo Pesci. Pesci began appearing in plays at the age of five. By the time he was ten, he was a regular on the show "Star Time Kids" along with Connie Francis. His first role in film came in the 1961 movie "Hey, Lets Twist. He was an uncredited dancer. In 1976 Pesci had a small role in the movie The Death Collector. Robert DeNiro convinced director Martin Scorsese to cast him in Raging Bull. The role caught the attention of Hollywood, and his career took off. Other notable works include Home Alone, My Cousin Vinny, and Casino.
