Joe Johnson

  • Joe Johnson is an All-Star guard currently playing for the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA. He is also a member of the United States national basketball team.

    On February 14, 2009, Johnson will play against Kevin Durant and O.J. Mayo in a game of H-O-R-S-E at an outdoor court in Phoenix, Arizona. The game is part of the NBA All-Star Saturday event.

  • Pro Career

    Johnson started his career with the Boston Celtics but was then traded halfway through his first season to the Phoenix Suns. He became a key player with the Suns during their playoff push in the 2005 NBA Playoffs. In 2005, Johnson was traded to the Atlanta Hawks. He was dealt for Boris Diaw and two future first-round draft picks. During the 2007-2008 season, Johnson was selected to the 2008 NBA All-Star Game and was named Eastern Conference player of the month on two occasions. He helped lead the Hawks to an 8th seed in the 2008 Eastern Conference playoffs where they lost in seven games against the Boston Celtics.NBA.com: Joe Johnson

    On December 27, 2008, Johnson scored 41 points against the Chicago Bulls. The Hawks won the high scoring affair 129 -117. Johnson finished the game one point from his career high. Johnson stated after the game, "The guys were saying I should keep the ball and go to the free-throw line.
