Jody Shelley is a professional ice hockey player for the NHL's San Jose Sharks.
Career Highlights
Prior to his NHL career, Shelley played several seasons of junior hockey in Canada, starting in 1994. In 1998, he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Calgary Flames. Shelley was assigned to the Flames' American Hockey League affiliate for his first few seasons. In 2000, still playing in the minors, Shelley was released, then signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets on August 17, 2000. He made his NHL debut that same year, playing just a single game with the Blue Jackets. Shelley continued with the Blue Jackets for the next seven seasons, including playing in Finland during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout. On January 29, 2008, the Blue Jackets traded Shelley to the San Jose Sharks, where he completed the 2007-2008 regular season.
