German professional hockey player Jochen Hecht plays for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League.

NHL Career
Hecht was drafted 49th overall in the 1995 NHL Draft by the St. Louis Blues. He continued to play in the Deutsche Eishockey-Liga (German Elite League) for three seasons after the draft. Hecht joined the Blues in the 1998-99 regular season for his NHL debut, but spent most of the season with the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Worcester IceCats. Hecht was traded to the Edmonton Oilers on July 1, 2001. After one season in Edmonton, Hecht was traded to the Buffalo Sabres on June 22, 2002. During the 2004-05 NHL Lockout, Hecht played one season for the Adler Mannheim in Germany. He returned to the Sabres after the lockout and signed a four-year contract with the team worth a reported $14.1 million.Timeline
