Joakim Noah

Joakim Noah is a professional basketball player for the Chicago Bulls.

Noah played college basketball for the University of Florida. In his Freshman year, he played sparingly and clocked in at 10.3 minutes per game. He averaged 3.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest.

In the 2007 NBA Draft, Noah was picked ninth by the Chicago Bulls.

On November 6, 2007 he made his regular season debut off the bench. He has missed the first three games because he has a sprained ankle.

Joakim Noah played the both the forward and center positions as a member of the [[Chicago Bulls during the 2009-2010 season. During Noah’s first couple of years in the league he was regarded as a player with a lot of energy but not considered a consistent force on both ends of the floor. Well Noah proved his critics wrong this year as he averaged a double-double during the 2009-2010 season with 10.7 points and 11 rebounds per game. To show that his regular season play wasn’t a fluke, Noah’s production improved as he averaged 14 points and 13 rebounds in five games during the playoffs. Noah missed 18 games during the season due to plantar fascitis and his presence was sorely missed during those stretches he was out of the lineup. If the Bulls keep Joakim Noah at his natural Power Forward position, he will only continue to get better and possibly provide some consistent scoring and defense inside; something the team has lacked for a number of years.

Joakim Noah was arrested on May 25, 2008 for possession of marijuana.

Officers spotted Noah walking on a street in a downtown bar district. He was holding a cup containing a liquid. When Noah saw the police, he put down the cup on the sidewalk and walked away. This was a clear indication that there was alcohol in the cup. The police were right.

Carrying an open container of alcohol is a misdemeanor in Gainsville, Florida.

Noah was searched and Officers found a marijuana cigarette in a cigarette pack in his pocket.

He was charged with two misdemeanors, one for carrying an open container of alcohol and the other one for possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.

He was given a court date and was released.
