Jimmy Smits is a Golden Globe and Emmy-winning American actor best known for his roles in NYPD Blue, L.A. Law, The West Wing and the new drama Cane.
He earned a BA from Brooklyn College and an MFA from Cornell University. He helped found the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts.
