Jimmy Eat World is an American Alternative Rock band that formed in Arizona and was one of the influential emo/emocore bands in the late '90s, particularly with the release of their 1999 album Clarity. After establishing themselves as an influential band in the underground scene, they achieved mainstream success with their 2001 album Bleed American and the hit single "The Middle," which helped the record become a platinum hit. Jimmy Eat World released two more albums after that, including Futures in 2004 and Chase This Light in 2007, the latter of which was executive produced by Butch Vig (who produced Nirvana's breakthrough album, Nevermind.
