Early Career
Vaughan was given his first guitar by a family friend, at age 13, and within two years had started his first band, The Swinging Pendulums. Within another year he was playing nightclubs with The Chessmen. Then in 1969 he formed Texas Storm — a band for which his younger brother, Stevie Ray, played bass.Official Site: Jimmie Vaughan
1970s and 1980s
Texas Storm gained a rather large following and would serve as a creative vehicle for Vaughan until the mid 70s when, together with harmonica player Kim Wilson, he gathered together a group of area musicians to form The Fabulous Thunderbirds. He played with the Thunderbirds through the 80s, leaving the band shortly before his brother, Stevie Ray, was killed in a helicopter crash in August of 1990.Official Site: Jimmie Vaughan
1990s to Present
After his brother's death, Jimmie Vaughan made few public appearances. Then, in 1994, he released his first solo album Strange Pleasures, which was well received. 1998 saw the release of Out There, and in 2001, he released the award-winning Do You Get The Blues?.allmusic: Jimmie Vaughan Bio
