  • NHL Career

    Slater was drafted 30th overall in the 2002 NHL Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers. He did not join the NHL immediately, but choose to finish college at Michigan State University. Slater made his NHL debut with the Thrashers in 2005. He was assigned to the Thrashers' American Hockey League affiliate, the Chicago Wolves, for four games in 2006. Slater returned to the Thrashers for the 2006-07 season, playing 74 regular season and four playoff games.
