Jim Ross

Jim Ross, aka "JR", is a play-by-play commentator for the WWE. He also owns a barbecue restaurant in Norman, OK.

History/WCW

Ross's career began in the mid-1980s doing play-by-play for Jim Crockett Promotions, which was bought out by Ted Turner and became part of WCW.

After some disagreements with WCW executive producer Eric Bischoff, Ross left WCW for the WWE in 1993.

WWE

Ross debuted as a WWE color commentator at WrestleMania IX, and despite suffering from Bell's palsy, which paralyzes facial muscles, he has become a permanent fixture on the Raw announce team since 1994.

His passionate, emotional play-by-play throughout the "Monday Night Wars" established his stature among fans and wrestlers alike as one of the most recognizable and respected commentators of his time.

Ross was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.

JR's BBQ

Following successful sales of his barbecue products, Ross opened J.R.'s Family Bar-B-Q restaurant in Norman, Oklahoma. He plans on opening more throughout Oklahoma in the hopes of franchising a national chain.
