Animated Films and the Oscars
Wall-E is actually the third animated film in recent years to be nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Original Screenplay. The animated film Ratatouille received an Oscar nod in 2007, as did The Incredibles in 2004. Neither Ratatouille or The Incredibles actually took home the Best Original Screenplay Oscars they were nominated for, which continues a long history of animated films being snubbed by the Academy.Variety: Jim ReardonWall-E | The Simpsons | Academy Awards | Andrew Stanton | Pete Docter
